Well, Ill tell you my story. In 1998 I believe, my dad bought me a Tamiya Tl-o1. When I bought it at the hobby shop, they had a deal where you buy the car and you can get all the radio stuff with it for a cheaper price. So my dad bought just the kit with no electronics. For some reason I never built the kit until about a year and a half later. And when i did build it, it never worked for some reason. So then about two years later I decided to get back into r/c. I bought a rtr tc3. After that I got a HPI Nitro Mt for a christmas present and then a Factory Team Rc10gt.

I've been racing since 1985.
Been involved in radio control since about 1983 I guess. The Super Champ was the car to own at the time. We also had this car by Tamiya called the Holiday buggy. Pretty funny stuff.
Everything was made out of aluminum until 1987 when Joel Johnson won the IFMAR championship with his Ultima that had some graphite and carbon fiber parts on it. That shook the hobby up pretty good and it pretty much hasn't stopped even yet I guess. Just remembering out loud!

Five years from 1990 to 1995. Stopping when my local track closed in 95. Then Started again in Feb of 2002. I'm more into it and become a much better racer in 11 months than I was after five years of racing when I was younger.
