i was hanging out at my friend's house when i noticed this plaque that said:

1995 roar mod nationals
sept. 29-30 oct. 1

savannah, ga
10th place
two wheel modified
a main

i asked him where he got it.. he said he found it near a dumpster. haha. i think its really cool though because it's from the roar mod nationals.

10th place in the 2wd Mod A main at the ROAR nats is no small feat. Just making the A main at a national level race is a big deal, even if you place last. I wonder who that originally belonged to? I'm sure that info is on the net somewhere...

I found nothing, but it would be an interesting point to know.

Mr. Pond, any help?

You know, I hate to look at the dark side of humanity but a lot of times burglars steal stuff not because it's valuable, but just because they know it's really going to get to the owner. It would be pretty cool to find out it was stolen and have it returned to the original owner . . . or a jealous wife tossed it . . . or the guy just gave up on having fun . . . so many possible stories behind your little find man, you should look into it!

That plaque originally belonged to Barry Baker. He was rather frustrated at the end of that weekend and probably just left it behind.

I didn't even know he competed in off road events. Thought he was strictly a road racer.

Welcome aboard Brad, but could you elaborate? What's your source?

I was there, plus I saved all of the old magazines that covered the race.

Barry had another plaque, for 2nd Place in 4WD Modified. That's how I know he was frustrated, because my plaque says 1ST Place. :)
