I just got this Super Champ and i love the way this thing was made. it probably doesn't handle worth a crap but its still sweet. I just need some bushings(or bearings) and electronics and it should be good to go. If anyone else has an older r/c post some pics :)

I wish i could post pics....put dont have digital camera.

I have a tamiya frog, AE rc10 buggy(orginal gold chassis) that needs help, and a kyosho single belt driven buggy...well, its a parts car now.

My uncle gave all these to me, the only one that works is the frog...and it works awesome when I put electronics in it.

A couple of weeks ago i saw a guy with an 1/8th scale onroad car of allmost 30 years old. The engine wasn't the original one i think. He told it was one of the first commercial cars you could buy. It had no suspension, only rear wheel drive, no diff in the back. So it was a very simple car.

Nice find, dominator. I'd suggest you keep it in mint condition, it might be worth a lot someday.

Howie - I think this is the replacement you will need for your Grasshopper.

My first RC I bought in 1985. It was a Marui Galaxy Buggy, that thing took a major beating, and always came back for more. LOL It even kept running after my ex-brother in law drove it into a lake!
I'd like to find another one sometime, just to build and set it on a shelf.

Typically the tether cars were .61 ci or 10 cc. displacement engines that were manufactured by McCoy (.60) or Dooling (.61).

I have the first corally model made. The main thing that i need to run it is a spur gear. Anyone know where i can get one? I think that its hte SP12, err i think, the first one. Its 1/12 scale. There is a place more than an hour away from my house that probably has the part, but does anybody know where I can find apart like this online?

Anybody heard of a tamiya baja bus?

baja BUG ? There was a an old one from tamiya that was based on a chassis similar to the 1 on the 1st page of this thread. There was also a Baja bug style shell, which was called the monster beetle that ran on the lunchbox chassis. (As well as the midnight pumpkin shell) :D. Tamiya also did the monster beetle in QD form

eh?

the Monster beetle used the blackfoot chassis. there was a sand scorcher which used the f150 ranger/holiday buggy chassis and the MB shell. the lunchbox and midnight pumkin used a smaller chassis wheels tyres etc..as they were supposed to be 1/12 scale not 1/10th.....also those are the only models that used that chassis.....

as for the existance of a Baja bug, never heard of it, but I will admit that doesnt mean there was never a tamiya model called that. as for baja bus....nope. Tamiya make a bus model at the moment but I dont think its RC....

There was a pajero (not sure if thats spelled right) that came before those 2 that used the same chassis. There's a blitzer beetle also.
