originally i was gonna get
electric team associated tc3 rtr - $220
Charger- At least a $100
Battery- At least $100 in batteries
new esc - another $100-130
new motor - $50-60

So my debate was nitro or eletric, which is cheaper...
I figured if i got a eletric i would have to get better stuff like the stuff listed above. I'm not sure bout racing, but i would want to go faster than stock rtr eletrics.
The only way i figure i would get electric is if i can find a used package with tc3 or losi xxx-s with new good esc and motor.

If i got nitro i could get a rtr package for what 200-350 dollars. And have to pay for fuel.. But if i bought my own electric new and updated everything with the list above thats like 550-600 dollars. So i would have to spend 300 dollars worth of fuel...LOL

So what nitro onroad 1/10th scale are real good and quick like 50+ rtr?
team associated tc3 nitro
team losi xxx-s nitro
any others?

well if we are talking a race worty car the ntc3 is the way to go. There is Duratrax streetforce and Traxxas 4TEc that claimn 50+ MPH but they dont have the greatest parts support and dont come close to handling like a ntc3.

If you get the ntc3 rtr it goes about 47 mph, handles very well, parts are VERY easy to come by and it has huge after market support.

Nitro is considerable funner than electric and more realistic. Trust me if you get into it it will be well worth your money.

cen makes a car that goes 71 mph out of the box, for a decent price, i forget the name of the model, but its on their site - cenracing.com ... i have a cen TR4 car and they work pretty well. I did upgrade the engine in it to an fantom though, i believe now my car goes 53mph... i do not like the belt drive on the TR4 though, i think shaft is way more reliable.

I suggest you go to a few LHSs in your area and see what parts they cary. Every hobby shop has HPI stuff, AE comes in second availablily for me and traxxas, duratrax, kyohsho are harder to find and cen i havent seen a single one around here so there you go.

ya i have to make all my parts or order em'

where i am... there is lots and lots of traxxas parts, but i think most places HPI would be the better bet. I have a friend that has an HPI and its nice, and it would be nicer than my cen if he took care of it.. lol.

So ive narrowed it down... kinda lol
Team Associated NTC3 Plus --$309.99 (Comes with glow plug and fuel bottle)
Traxxas Tec 4 Nitro --$299.99 (Ez Start? Good idea?)
HPI RTR Nitro 3 Evo --$279.99
HPI Nitro RS4 3 Type SS --$309.99
Cen CT4S --$330.00

Don't forget the OFNA LD3, it's the up and comer in the nitro touring car scene. It's a TC3 clone, but more durable.

Has anyone had one of these cars, where it just didn't live up to what the manufacture says it can do. And should i be worry about a 3 belt drive system?

Yes, if you're playing around in less than a very clean parking lot those belts can be trouble.
I heard that the Yokomo is a screamer though(If that's the car you're wondering about?).
There's a Yokomo forum here at RC zone, there's probably a discussion about that car over there.
For that matter there is a discussion forum for each one of those cars in your list.
