View Full Version : Bearing seal not staying in place

Mkay, When I was cleangin my car earlier, I noticed that the 2 outside bearing seals on the right-hand side diff housing had come off. So, I take the bearings out of the housing, and put it back in. They just come off when the car is tipped slightly sideways. I tried again for a few times but the same thing happened...

Does Anyone knwo how to keep the seals in place?

There are tiny skinny c- clips that holds the seals on, once they magicaly disappear, they are gone. So gotta get new bearings.

Once you lose the c clip you never find it again. I think they evaporate or something. :) If the shield on the other side of the bearing is still there and staying on, you can turn the bearing around so the open side is inside the tranny and use the car that way till you can get new bearings. I prefer the rubber sealed bearings. Easier to get into for maintiance and NO C CLIP..lol

just spend the 2 bucks and replace it. its not worth the effort to try to fix it.

I can't turn it round because of the shape. It is flanged so it only fits in one way :(
