I would get a Tamiya Twin Detonator, and still have enough left over to buy lunch.

TLT-1 (http://www.rcmodels.com/tam47201.html)

07-12-2004, 01:03 AM

07-12-2004, 01:51 AM

4-tecs are more than $150...unless you get it off of ebay

07-12-2004, 02:35 AM
Picked my son up a E Rustler for around 150 with batt packs and what not. But if it were for me I'd go with the mini T

It was to show the price

07-12-2004, 11:25 AM
My LHS has TLT-1's for $135.

I was set on getting the Twin detonator, But I cant choose between the TLT-1 or Detonator now.

What would yous choose and why?

07-12-2004, 04:40 PM
Are you talking radio, batts and electronics all for $150 or just a kit under $150.

For about $200 you could be up and running with a Mini-T ($150 kit, $20 for a 6 cell Kan pack, leaves about $30 for a cheap charger if you dont have one already).

07-12-2004, 05:56 PM
well what do u currently have???

why not buy stuff for it to make it better??

07-12-2004, 06:18 PM
i would get any tamiya, cant beat their bang for the buck

07-12-2004, 06:27 PM
I would get a duratrax delphi indy car. for $80 at my lhs

07-12-2004, 06:32 PM
For $150 go with the Team Losi Mini (mini-t)

07-12-2004, 09:21 PM
Tamiya's Baja King. 4WD and it's just about indestructable (sp?). Many hopups possible... In Canada it's like $140. In US prices, you can get the Baja King with a set of bearings and maybe some oil filled shocks. That should total about 150 right?

I have been thinking about the venom racing mini giant 1/20 scale 4X4, check it out in the misc. vehicle forum one guy has two and a mini-t and he claims they are the best for around the house bashing and it will pull the front wheels off the ground right out of the box for $130 RTR at ultimate hobbies. The tlt-1 has no radio, esc, motor ect..
I hope whatever you decide on brings you many hours of fun
Good luck :)

$150 being the kit or RTR cost,

Im willing to bet that 99.9% of us have a motor, esc, and servo layin around.

Currently, I have two FTnTC3's, and two RC10GT's, and a T2. All 5 are modded excessively.

One TC3 is running a sirio .12 evo2, the other a rossi black pixi .12. They are both screamers.

The GT's are running ae.15's on crack. No doubt in my mind they turned out to be the 2 most power AE.15 engines made. I dont know if it was how I broke them in or waht, but each truck hits the 46mph mark, and I have yet to gear them for speed. Both wheelie.

I have to wait until Im released out of parental custody before I buy the truck. I havent been able to touch my rc's in 3 weeks, man I swear I think im going insane...

07-13-2004, 02:03 AM
I also have a Tamiya Pajero, and an RS4 pro

07-13-2004, 03:31 AM
Traxxas Stampede, hands down. Toss it around, throw it against the wall, and kick it. It'll simply come back for more.

07-13-2004, 04:06 AM
Yes, I agree with skribble (Therefore, I Retract My Previous Statement :D )

Ive had my Stampede for nearly 6 years, The only parts Ive broken are the: Shocktower x2, C-Hub, and the front shocks(they blew out after ramping all day) :D

Its currently awaiting its 4x4 chassis (as soon as I get 120 bux).

07-13-2004, 07:26 AM
$150 you'll get a decent..um.... SERVO..or somthing second hand wich Id advise against especially if its a 2nd hand nitro...save up your $$$ for a while longer and U can get somthing decent...Tamiya twin detonator..pffft..well there not my cup of tea anyways..but hey what ever tickles your fancy...

07-13-2004, 10:40 AM
Academy SB Sport 4wd Buggy. $145 shipped from Ultimate hobbies and performs quite well out of the box.

Stampede is also another fav as a basher, very nice.

07-13-2004, 01:50 PM
get the micro rs4 kit it's cheap and fast and pretty uh...uh......cute with it's mini foam bumper.

Losi Stealth

The stampede is a good truck for bashing. I had one, and still have my Rustler. They don't race, but I haven't ever had a problem with either of them.

I have a micro RS4, but its pretty limited to carpet. The new X Ray M18 seems like a better car, and the kit has the same street price as the RS4 kit.

I am happy with my mini t, nice little truck, currently my favorite.

07-13-2004, 10:54 PM
Id get a rusty or a TC3 kit.

07-14-2004, 01:31 AM
Mini giant

07-15-2004, 02:10 AM
I would get 6 zip-zaps, a couple cases of beer, and race with my friends on the pool table til the sun came up.

07-15-2004, 07:25 AM

07-15-2004, 08:05 PM
The traxxas rustler is a good cheapo car for just bashin in the back yard, if your looking for on road then i'd take traxxas-dude's advice on buying a 4-tec. Best advice though... Just bite the bullet and get yourself a high quality kit.

07-15-2004, 10:55 PM
:p :p :D :D

07-15-2004, 11:09 PM
Ive decided on buying an Electric stampede, and re-building my nitro stampede since it got destroyed via RX330(lexus)

that $150 has been stretched 3 fold.nice
