im only 16, i have no money, this is my T to E conversion.

i did this is 3 hours, it took alot of thinking on my part, and i was way to tired, as its 2:42 am right now, i have just finished.

its gonna be super slow because of the gearing, i think the piniopn i found is 14t and the spur is 79, so its probably gonna be a good climber

it now has a super low cg and i swear by my knowledge it has lost over a pound.

im gonna wait till tomarrow to run it because it scared me _________less when i turned it on cus it spazzed out and went nuts all over my floor.

i hope you guys like it

^next to 5800 is a RC10gt front nose brace and an example of the "allen wrench-in-fuel-tubing" method

more "allen wrench-in-fuel-tubing", it really works ;)

^^notice the fuel tank holes were dremeled a bit larger to fit the zip-ties.

Cool! The only problem I see with that is how you fastened the motor in place. Don't you think the motor will shift under load? I'd try to clamp it down with some U-bolts or something like that, or make a motor plate, or steal a motor mount from somthing else perhapse...

did you keep the two speed? i am wondering how it will slow down with a two speed.

Of course he kept the two speed, its an internal 2 speed. :)

Looks interesting, but you do know there was an electric conversion done to the T-Maxx before the E-Maxx even existed, right. He is a Traxxas employee now, but it had two motors and a custom motor plate and what-not. It was pretty cool.

Alot of people have done the conversion before.lol.

Yours looks nice though. Only problem I can see you running into is the motor shifting with the way it is mounted right now.

hey man thats cool. I might do something like that because my motor is shot in my T-maxx

well i ran a a 7 cell pack thru , and it took a long time! and the truck itself proved itself to be very slow, my mini t kicked its butt. the motor was tied down very well and didnt shift at all, even when i tumbled it down the staircase.

but, there is only one problem, since this origianaly was a sportmaxx, upgraded to t-maxx specs, it is forward only, and this casued me to have no brake function.

so this project will be torn down today and i will start this again in a few months when i get my HV maxx. And i will try to get some custom motor mounts made.

but until then thx for checkin it out guys ;)

Nicely done, I am glad to see that you are using a BL set-up on there. I personally would of used about 15 zip ties, being that I would be afraid of the motor shifting under a load.

even if you get the hv maxx brushless when it comes out you will still have the same problem with the two speed and braking. you will have to use a three channel radio and use the third channel to work the brakes. with all the new radios that have come out in the past year you might be able to do this.
i tried to do this over a year ago.

well, i already plan on getting the reverse my maxx, but once i have that do your think i would have brakes and reverse without the third channel?

you must have been really board, or just needed some thing to get you tired. and last but not least, you might have donn it because you needed to get rid of some zip ties and duct tape. lol

Wait. You said you have no money, so how were you able to afford the brushless setup? Later on you said

i will start this again in a few months when i get my HV maxx. And i will try to get some custom motor mounts made.
How are you going to afford a HV Maxx setup and custom motor mounts with no money? I was mediocre in accounting, but something doesn't add up here.

i get all of my new r/c stuff becasue this recent school year i got an averaged 3.3 gpa, and the 4 years before that i never ever got above a .5 gpa :-/

so my parents were proud of me and got me a bunch of things.

but i gotta thank my school for the grades ;)

but now that thats over with, im left with "you have to get a job" and stuff, but id rather spend my time bashing. :-D so R/C lead to me being broke...again

dont you jsut love this hobby?
