I know what a dohc is (dual over head cam).........I was just looking to get a crx and putting in a b16 (sir engine) and I saw a crx for cheap with a zc engine but no wiring harness so I needed to know about the harness.........like where to get one.........I might just get it to pull the zc and put in a sir engine.

here is the listing for it

Comment: Good exterior, mint interior, 1.6L DOHC ZC engine, ZC tranny, racing clutch, not running, needs wiring harness, as is. 199,000 km.

The zc was a dohc non vtec 1.6 that honda made for the older integras, 88-89, i think.
Best place to ask for specific honda questions, go to honda-tech.com. They are arses, but the info is good.

It was made for the integra, you would need one from an itegra of that year. But to be certain, honda-tech has ALOT of threads on the zc, they might be able to help.

ZC's are 130hp 1.6L DOHC non-VTEC four cylinders. they were used a lot in japan, and a similar engine was used in US spec integras of the time period.

on the 88-91 civic/crx Si, the ZC will bolt/wire right up with no modifications, but on the DX, HF, and base models you will need Si harness and axles.

i dont know how hard the harness is to come by in a junkyard or something, but the whole engine swap only costs about $500USD.

i would say stick with the ZC if at all possible. i know the B16 guys make more power and have the VTEC thing workin for them, but look at it this way: you can buy a greddy turbo kit for the '92-'95 SOHC cars for about $1500 and retrofit it to the ZC on the cheap.

the same kit for a B16 would cost around $2200, and chances are the VTEC will be disabled anyway. i dunno, just my $0.02

to each his own.

you cant argue with the fact that the honda is the new mustang 5.0 tho(ie: cheap to go fast)

HEHEHEHE, uncle jo said hondas suck. Thats funny. I personally think Duratrax sucks since this IS and R/C board. If this was a boating board, I would say personal paddle boats suck, cause they dont go fast for the amount of power put in. If this was a Christmas board, I would say real trees suck, I prefer it to be alive than in a house dead. I could go on, but this IS an R/C board.
to each her own.
