I was curious what is the biggest head out there for a .18 engine.

Why is everybody fixated with biggest anything? How about best performing?
Just a thought.

Calm down:) Why don't you ask why I'm asking about a big manifold for an .18. Why: because I have a new Picco .21 medium block and know that the .15-.18 manifolds fit the exhaust correctly while real big block manifold don't. So I'm looking for a minifold that will allow my .21 medium block to breath easier.

Oh! why didn't you say so in the first place then maybe more people would be more informed and probably get the answer you are looking for faster.

Well I titled it for those interested in .18s. I think more people have knowledge about the 18's than they do about the .21's (med blocks). And this being the case I thought someone would just say the answer

doesnt the picco medium block .21 use a traxxas header?

07-24-2005, 04:59 AM
Yes but the traxxas header looks like it could have been made a little bigger.

Even if you do find a larger header, the exhaust port is still going to be the same diameter.

I was going to bore it out by about a 1mm +/- , And change the exhaust duration, but before I do this I want to make sure I have a propper manifold.

Look at some of my past threads and you will see that I am serious and will not hesitate on ruining a perfectly new engine :) for the sake of increased power.--That's how we learn- through trial and error

haha, we know, we know. You could always take a bigblock header and somehow weld a flange from a traxxas header on it.
Im the same as you with cheap engines, why not its not like the cheap sport engines are designed to last for a long time anyways.

NEM has a big bore header thats used to get rid of the side exhaust on the TNX 18 engine. Its a good hop up since it removes the restriction from that cast manifold it comes with. You might want to give that one a look. Its p/n TNX241.
