rs43, this would be a great first-time car. If you go for the RTR you'll get an easy-to-tune engine, a strong drivetrain, and plenty of room for upgrades. Same deal with the SS, only you'd have to build it. My Nitro RS4 MT Gen1's only problem were the differential output cups, which broke. But, you can get hardened, shiny steel ones that are truly tough. Many people have a good reaction to HPI, and there's a good reason for that.

well i have the rs4 3 18ss (diff engine than evo, kit not rtr) but its basically the same thing, its a great car, i havent broken any drivetrain parts on it except stripping the spur gear (my fault) and yes, the rs4 has lots of room for improvement, but stock, i was barely able to handle it, once you learn to drive it fairly well, then you upgrade, its been tough in crashes too
