That makes no sence.

i cut my lawn and get 20 dollars a week to do the whole lawn and trimming. I have bought an mgt 4.6 and mini t with loads of hopups all with my own money. Except half the mgt was payed by my parents as a christmas present

z-man280
07-07-2006, 11:43 AM
i give alot of credit to you that work for your rc's. even if its lawn work, housework, or anything, you are still earning it, and gifts are totally acceptable. you are learning values, and you all know how hard your parents work for the money they have as well. you set goals, and you stick to them to get your rc's. keep up the good work, you deserve all the things you get with that kind of work ethics and morals...

Bullydawg, where are you located??? i know several people who can orobably find you a good starter car

i am the most pathetic. i am 18 and i work ONLY on the weekends at Marcos Pizza for $5.45 an hour. i dont work the weekends because i want to, but because thats the only time they need me because the Marcos i work at is going down the tubes. i want to buy an RC10B4 and a brushless, well guess what, its gonna take me about a MONTH AND A HALF to get the money. i am the only 18 year old i know of that works for MINIMUM WAGE.

Im 22 and have been in this hobby since i was about 16 or so. Right now i have: Traxxas Revo 2.5R, Xray NT18T, Hot Bodies LSP-R, and I traded on here and am waiting for an Ofna 9.5 and an electric heli. So ill have 5 right now. Most i ever had at one time was 8.

Here is a quick list off the top of my head on what RC's i owned.

2 tmaxx's, hardcore racing mutant maxx, emaxx, 2 xxx-nt's, mini-t, txt-1, tlt-1, stampede, nitro stampede, rustler, mbx-4, mbx-5, hyper 7 pro, 7.5 sports, 2 kanai 2's, mini lst, rs4 3 .18ss, xxx-s, 3 brushless xxx-4's, t3, tc3, nitro tc3, piccolo heli, 4 micro rs4's, 2 storm's, savage, fm1e motorcycle, plus more that i cannot remember. Not bad for being 22 :) O and i bought EVERYONE OF THEM MYSELF with the exception of the mini-t that my gf bought me. I dont want to add up all this let alone all my batteries, engines, motors, servos, etc. :)

I am 15, I usually buy all of my stuff unless it is as a gift. I do alot of yard work around the house, painting, fixing things, really anything that needs to be done that my parents are willing to pay me for.

Right now I have:

HPI Sport 2 - Lots of upgrades, around $400-$500 into it

HPI Savage 4.6ss - Quite a few mods, around $200-$300 into it

Associated RC10 GT - Bought for $15 off a friend, needs minor parts to get running

I am also currently working on a 1951 Chevrolet Pick-Up. I am half owner with my Dad. It is in amazing condition. Right now we've started to take things apart and do some body/metal work. At this moment there is just a cab and an engine in it!

Yeah, the straight six runs awsome. I believe it is a later 50's 235. We are planning to put an independant front suspension kit in. I think we are also going to keep the six in there for now and just get a re-build kit for it.

It's alot of work, but fun to work on!

Oh, and those pics above are from when we bought it last fall.

associatedude92
07-09-2006, 08:16 PM
LUCKY i love the way a straight 6 drives and independant suspension is a must in these trucks IMO but yea it is a lot of work but really fun to work on especiall these older trucks cause then u can see how they designed and how they are put together compared to the newer versions but are u keeping the visor on it??

I'm 14 and got into it when I was 10. My first "hobby grade" rc I got for a christmas present (it was a RTR T3). Same with my second B4 (a year later). I have sense then sold that B4 and have bought a FT B4. I have also bought a TC3 and a CRC T-Force (recently sold though). I buy everything for them though. The only thing I have bought is the brushless system in my TC3 and the radio. I don't work though. I was planning on getting a job this summer but I'm only going to be home for 3 weeks or so of my summer so I said screw it I just wont get a job. The only time I get money though is for Christmas and my Birthday, no allowance. Up until I started to get more competitive in the hobby that money would last the whole year now my B-day was in the end of March and I'm allready out of money.

My R/C's: FT B4, TC3, and T3 (needs a reciever though) I have a pretty crazy amount of money in all of them though. Well except the TC3 sense I just purchased it very recentally.

Well suprisingly all of the body parts were really easy to take off. It is cool to see how everything worked on cars and trucks back then. It is a pretty simle truck in my opinion.

I probably won't keep the visor on, I'm not too keen on the look of it. But if I was restoring it I migh keep it on.

yea i dont like the visor and ur lucky mine were a pain to take off but the guy we bought it form tryed to put bondo on the fenders to smooth out the lines and i had to take a air hammer to get it off and the guy just messed up this truck hardcore but i like it.

You have a '51?

The guy I bought mine from just primered over old paint and rust. I think the was just gonna make half-a$$ project out of it and call it good. It kinda seemed like that was the kind of guy he was though.

My 7 year old son inherits some of my old stuff and gets some new stuff of his own... Currently he has an Emaxx, Micro RS4, F/T TC3 and a Nitro 4tec... I started him on an origional RC10T and 2 stick transmitter when he was 3....

The euro/*** imports are ok cars but you can't beat old American steel (or fiberglass..) My real toy cars are a C3 Vette and a Chevelle SS....

Meet Dakotah Phend:

He is 9, from michigan and one of the top racers in the state...I have the privelage to say that I get race with this amazing young man all of time!! He is sponsered by Losi and Trinity and that is Al Horne next to him, a long time Pro racer who has done great things for RC in MI.
