I'm wanting to de-anodize some of my metal and then polish it up. I've done it before, but I forgot. What chemical do I spray on it to get it loosened up?

You can use Greased lightning and I think E-Z-off. I think a lot of people use the greased lightening stuff...

EZ-Off Oven Cleaner, let it sit for 15 minutes and wipe it off. you may have to do it again.

I use just regular oven cleaner. Most any of them work. The easy-off never worked for me though. By the way itll start tro eat the aluminum if you leave it in there to long.

Why remove it? Aluminum turn grey in time, Polish it everything turns black. Then after a run, back to square one!!

Just curiuos! tell me why? And dont tell for the shiny look!!! lol!

I de-anodized my motor plate for my xxx-t and I regret it. Anodizing gives the aluminum strength, kinda like an exoskeleton for the soft inner metal. Motor plates are cheap, but I'm having difficulty finding a new red anodized motor plate. Only the black ones seem to be available.
