    OH MY GOSH.

    this is OOLD and pointless now...unless we want to discuss the possible marketing of this truck. has anyone besides me noticed the desert truck ads in various RC magazines that have striking resemblances with Thor's truck? even the rims and tire size are familiar.....

    either...
    1 - he's been busy marketing the thing without telling anyone
    2 - someone stole his design and he is in court fighting it
    3 - he's simply busy

    nothing we can do but wait.

    ---------EDIT------------

    quick google resulted in the following;
    http://www.thorbob.com/ - nothing up on this one
    http://www.thorbob.com/baja_project_intro.htm - not gone but not updated since '06 - nothing new.
    http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/gallery/34649/ - updated tomorrow of last year? either that or this site is in a different time zone? not sure (however, notice the motorcycle pics)
    http://thorbob.smugmug.com/ - this one has a most recent update of 6 days ago and also contains an album with a motorcycle identical to that of the other album, which has RC stuff in it. Therefore i made the conclusion this IS the RC Thorbob and not a coincidence.

    My guess is he's just busy and either forgot about this forum or has other much higher priorities...possibly that motorcycle. Good to hear though, with an absence this long i'd be worried if he's ok. apparently he is.

    anyone know what he does for a living? photographer maybe? lol

    RC Driver - August 2007 - Issue 44 - page 175

    Ad for thunder tech racing's new truck...
    it just struck as a very similar concept when i glanced at it, from vague memories of Thor's truck. now comparing the two at one time with photos the similarities are less apparent. it is definitely a completely different vehicle but the design cues are similar... i think it's just built like a real stadium truck as is ThorBob's... so they look similar.

    but yeah, not exactly what i thought at first. i'm glad you made me go look.

    Figit090,

    Oh yes, I am very familar with the TTR Corr 2. I have been waiting very impatiently for mine to arrive. I placed my order in March . I am a HUGE fan of CORR and any PreRunner style rig. Even though I dont have the Speed channel, I do buy any and every magazine with even a picture of one in it.

    I'm also working on a project of my own that involves a large scale stadium truck.

    well i kinda brought up a new section to the topic when validates it being active. whats bothering you?
    and Kucheg - no need. one - you didn't even ressurect this thing two - you didn't do anything wrong to begin with.

    anyway, back on this sub-topic..lol;

    are there any other prerunner-style rc's available or in the making?

    Maybe those who have time should make some of their own and we can start a new RC type! haha. but seriously, i'm really interested in how these things perform. I've only seen CORR on TV TWICE and i'm already loving it. i dont have sat or cable.

    the thing i wonder about is how it will handle with that solid rear end compared to independent...

    Those CORR trucks look awesome. We have something similar to CORR here in Australia, it's just called Off Road Racing and the course is at a minimum 15km long with an event usually over 200km in total. I actually navigate for car 415 of the Western Australian Off Road Champoinship.

    There is a prorunner in our class. (at least thats what it resembles)

    X2

    Figit,
    I dont think there are any other PreRunner style RCs. That is why I am very excited about TTCs Corr 2. I believe it is the first real attempt at this particular market.
    I have seen a few similar builds. I will try to find some links.
    From my understanding, "handleing" has been greatly improved from the "pre-production" models being wider and longer.

Im just disthraught to think who might have ended with his projects specially this baja truck,I assume it was disposed of or in storage by the goverment.
