These are the trucks that my buddy Damron ran at the Short Course Showdown at Trackside Hobbies. The red body is by Bill Zegers, RCCA's top-gun painter. The blue body is by one of the guys here at Traxxas. Pretty sweet!

Zegers body is great, of course, but I really like the blue one too. It works with the logo and looks like the real deal. Most people don't realize that more than half the field of a full-size short course race has one or two color paint jobs.

True! As much as I respect the skill required to paint some of the more over-the-top RC bodies out there, I've always prefered brighter, bolder bodies with less "jazz" on them. Some of the latest NASCAR wraps are the worst. Look at any one of Richard Petty's classics compared to some of the new-style train wrecks and tell me which looks racier!

Here are some pics of my HPI Blitz.

    Running the following:

    HPI Flux 5700 esc/motor combo.
    KO Propo Servo.
    Spektrum Rx.

I made a quick esc mount out of some spare lexan to mount it in front of the rear shock tower. Put the on/off switch in the lexan as well. Makes it easy to get at with the body on and away from harm.

Since the pics were taken I have added a set of Jconcepts White Rulux wheels and Pro-line Caliber tires.

And here are some action shots from the local BMX track.

    Ready to get dirty!

First good jump over the step up jump.

    Second attempt, Nailed it!

Getting the feel for the Double Double on the back stretch of the track. OOPS! I ended up getting this down after a few trys. Looked sweet!

Sorry there are not more pics. My wife was on camera duty and she forgot the memory card. DOH!

There were plenty of flips, end overs, pogos, and lid landings. All with a big smile on my face!
