Team Associated and Nic Case have been working on a special project the dubed “The Road to 200”. I think that with all the input of experienced & talented individuals, that the possibility of reaching 200mph with an R/C car is within reach.

This is the equipment we plan to make history with.
The car ,the SR11 is based on the NTC3 and is designed by myself and Curtis Husting.
Power is supplied by a 1521 Neu motor, 12 cell PowerEdge LiPo battery, and the sophisticated power management of a Castle Creations HV speed controller. The gears are the finest made 32 pitch hardened steel version by RW, while the radio will be the Fasst System from Futaba and the tires are from BSR.

Details of the car, products used & you can get a really get a glimpse of how hard this is.
My grammar needs improvement, LOL - you’ll see in the interview portion.

    Anyway
Still working on the "last" parts for a June or July attempt.

He said he had a blow over at 175 but then at the end the end of the video the guy says it's the fastest rc in the world at 167??

    Yes, you are right
Sorry for the confusion. This video was but together from two separate test sessions. One in December and the other in March. If you look and listen and even closer you will also notice "other" things that don’t really flow perfectly.

But, I do think this video communicates what we are trying to do with some decent footage under the hood......

As far as the blow-over, it happened at 177mph – we were actually lucky we got a reading ,since it happened after the speed traps. It has happened 3 times before -- just not with a speed-reading. The audio at the end, mentions 167mph that was from our first run, in the morning, not in the evening like the video implies. In between those two runs, we also had one at 173mph.

    Anyway
Now that we have extra-long-range with our 4PK, next time out otta-be good.

Nice article Nic! Do we have a date for Fontana yet? Will you be attempting the 200 mark there?

Luckily I didn't break anything but thursday or Friday I'm gonna go try again hopefully it doesn't rain but do u think I can hit 100 and do u have some ideas how I can make downforce find for thr front like vassmar i have th same body as him and a little bigger wing in the back but it doesn't seem to be handling the best but idk I'll keep you updated next time I run kt

    Hi Tc5100
    I’m sure you have read this;
    http://iscspeedchallange.forumotion....car-go-100-mph
As far as going 100mph with your set-up, I’ve calculated that with that motor battery combo --- you will need to gear 49spur to a 69 pinion.
    And get these tires………….
    Gear

    ----------------------------------------------

But what I would do if I where you
Change the motor to a 7700 Kv MM
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Castle-1-10-...item1e64f154d9
Then gear it = 69 spur 33 pinion, much easier to gear + I think you could go even faster.................

    Hope this helps
    Cheers

I hope that you get the speed run on video, I would love to see you break the 100 mph.

    Hi Josh

With the steering I suggest tightening the "servo saver" collar all the way and add 1' tow-in to the front. Can you post a photo of the car with body on- and off?

Also---Turn down your dual-rate on the radio ,so when you drive the car slowly - with the wheel all the way to the left --it makes a 20-foot diameter circle. Then do the same to right - if different adjust end point on the radio. Re-trim the steering - and check it again. This is very important and often overlooked.

    Cheers & good luck

  22. Chronicling - The Road to 200

If you have 4 minutes to spare,
I’ve just put together a video chronicling our journey to get an R/C car to achieve 200mph.
Even thought the goal has not yet been realized, I thought it would be good to honor the effort, time, & support of the 80+ people that have contributed over the last several years.

Just out of curiousity, are you not running any kind of gyroscopic steering assistance on the car? Every gyro-assisted car I've had you can just kinda get it going the right way and it'll track like an arrow even if the terrain is less than perfect.

Great driving! I keep waiting for the 'mission accomplished' video.
