I'm building a better mouse trap!
I'm stretching a 3.3 Revo Chassis to 17.5'' WHEEL BASE and installed the Summit front locking diff and shifting 2 speed trans.
I using 1/5 beadlock rims with 7.55'' Proline Trenchers with the foams pulled. I'm using the Yeti XL roll cage and made my own aluminum panels. The spare tire is a smaller knock-off of the Trenches but is smaller in Dia. it fits the chassis very well. I also installed the Summit front and rear bumpers with the LED lites. I plan on using the light bar on the rear of the cage. I went with a 1/5 scale Hitec MG5755HS steering servo. HPI Vorza motor mount, 4074 brushless motor and a 6s esc to run the SMC 9400 2s lipos in series to get 4s that is planed to push this Buggy on the rocks and trails.

I have new parts on the way that will have this looking very scale. Drivers that the Axial team designed for the Yeti XL and I have new Traxxas Summit bumpers with the lights installed. I will modify the stinger with a aluminum piece and the body will be painted to get it to stand out also. I still have more work to do on chassis that I will share with you when I get to that.
Here is some pictures of the parts that are on the way here.

How I made the panel. I used painters tape and masked the area that I wanted to make the panel for. I peeled and pasted to a sheet of aluminum that I bought at Home Depot. It is a dryer vent. $3.88

I was working on getting the wire cleaned up. This is how it is going to look other than the light harness that will also find it's way into this build.

Here is the difference in the two builds side by side.

This flush mounted 7075 cross brace supports the batteries and also keeps the body from flexing or trying to shift.

The rear bumper acts as a bump stop.

The interior showed up. I plan to add some paint to it so that it matches the outside panels.

I have The Traxxas Slayer bumper cut up and modified to get the looks that I need. The bonus is it is a great handle to carry it with.

The bumper is now snug to the body and the right size.

The reason for the bumper is not just for looks but it works as a stop for the body when it is open.
I added a swivel to the rear summit bumper and a stainless D-ring for better detail and to use as a way to pull Axial Yeti XL's from being stuck trying to fallow me! lol!

I have some new parts on the way. The low gearing and large tires is play a big part in buying quality parts. I broke a spool is a very short period of time. I'm also having problems with the BEC. Here are some of the parts on the way.

I'm hoping that locking all 4 wheels will help in not only it's crawling ability but last loner before braking anything. I also broke a plastic diff cup in the front end. I wish Traxxas had over engineered the diffs... but where is the money in that!

The parts came in to install the front shifting locker assembly.

I'm still waiting from LEADING EDGE MACHINE to send the 7075 cnc diff cup!

I got the front and rear Traxxas Summit Bulk Heads in today. This will cover the front because for the moment the rear has a spool and it is using the Revo bulk head.
The fist thing was to bolt it to the frame so that I can mark where the shifting lever goes through the frame. I used a file to notch the piece needed to get it fitted.

I added to the photo what needs to be done to keep the frame and Bulkhead as one in a build like this. I added longer bolts of course to get the nuts to fit. with the parts in place it becomes a very stiff front end, Much more so than the stock chassis of both the Traxxas Revo/Summit or the Axial Yeti. Some day soon I hope to make a chassis out of carbon fiber. It will be the last part of the build.

I had to switch around the shifting rod and now it doesn't get in the way of the shocks.
